Journalists in Northern Macedonia urge to condemn hate speech, incitement to discord and intolerance towards Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people
This is happening through a declaration from the Civil Association “DELO” – Skopje, which was submitted to the Association of Journalists in Northern Macedonia.
The proposed declaration, which calls on Bulgarians in the Association to accept that they condemn and will support the language of hatred towards Bulgaria and the Bulgarian people, including those who are citizens of the Republic of Northern Macedonia and from statements in the media, contains discriminatory content. technique origin; that they call on all those entrusted by law to exercise public authority in order to prevent the prevention of direct and indirect discrimination, harassment and segregation directed at Macedonian Bulgarians; that it reaffirms its commitment to strengthening relations with Bulgaria through constructive dialogue as a significant contribution to the suppression of hate speech.
At the end of February, the DELO association submitted a proposal for a similar declaration to the parliament of the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
The association was established years ago and its goals are to raise the dignity and spiritual values of the citizens of Macedonia of the Republic of the North, regardless of the use of ethnic, linguistic, religious, political, gender, social and other affiliation, freedom of speech and press, opposition of all kinds of manifestations in the language of hatred, building friendship and goodwill with all neighboring countries, promoting the friendship treaty between the Republic of Northern Macedonia and the Republic of Bulgaria.
