EC GRAND Immo VSV and HK SZ Olimpija are dueling each other for a place in the win2day ICE Hockey League semifinals. After Ljubljana opened the quarter-final series with an away win, Villach went on to have three successes in a row before the Dragons – each with their backs to the wall – struck back and forced the showdown with back-to-back victories. While the first five games in this series were high-scoring with an average of 10.2 goals, only five goals are scored in the sixth meeting.
Despite a 2-0 lead after the first third, the ICE newcomer only prevailed in the 19th minute of extra time.
