Haute-Garonne: Tel-Aviv, Venice… new sunny destinations for summer 2022 from Toulouse-Blagnac airport
Forget the covid and head for the sun. This is the program that Toulouse-Blagnac airport has prepared for the inhabitants of Occitanie this summer. Traffic will resume significantly with the arrival of summer and recover throughout the year. “2022 should see its traffic rise to between 60 and 80% of the traffic of 2019, before the crisis” tried to estimate Philippe Crebassa, the chairman of the management board during the presentation of the summer flight program yesterday in Blagnac.
Tel-Aviv and the Balearic Islands star this summer
From spring, 79 destinations (see map) including 18 national and 61 international will be offered to travellers, i.e. the equivalent of 86% of the summer 2019 programme. New destinations, in particular towards the sun, are opening up. Tel-Aviv in Israel will be served once a week by the Cypriot company TUS Airways which will also provide a flight to Larnaca in Cyprus from €89. Air France will complete the service to Algiers and Oran. For its part, Ryanair is inaugurating four new destinations to Rome, Bergamo, Venice and Agadir in Morocco.
Volotea, another low cost company, now serves Madrid and Faro in Portugal. Iberia Air Nostrum is opening Ibiza (2 flights per week) in addition to flights from Iberia, Ryanair and Easyjet. Passengers will have a choice! The Balearic Islands will be widely served with Palma de Mallorca and Menorca as another entry point.
Takes off from Montreal
Still under the Spanish sun, the Canary Islands are still very successful with Occitans with Las Palmas, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Fuerteventura. Ryanair will also reopen its flights to Valencia in Spain and Tangier in Morocco.
If you prefer to tan French then Corsica will be a destination of choice from Toulouse with four destinations: Ajaccio, Bastia, Calvi and Figari. Also eagerly awaited, the connection to Montreal by Air Transat is back in service with up to four flights per week at the peak of summer.
In total, over the spring-summer 2022 season, Toulouse-Blagnac airport will offer 6.3 million seats, an increase of 78% compared to summer 2021 (3.5 million seats) but not yet level of summer 2019 before the health crisis (7.5 million seats). Note that La Navette d’Air France is gaining momentum with 21 flights per day, this summer could be added to six flights to Roissy Charles de Gaulle.
To facilitate the construction of trips by passengers, the airport offers the Tinder for travel on its website! Depending on the chosen criteria (family trip, short stay, nature trip, etc.), artificial intelligence suggests the destinations that “match” the most. Your vacation just a click away.
