Guillaume Tatu, deputy mayor for youth in Annecy was “L’Invité.e H2O” this Sunday, March 20, 2022.
First subject proposed: the construction site of the Les Puisots leisure center :« Pendant 50 years on a set of patches on the right on the left. For us, the idea was to make a center at the height of Annecy. »
The accommodation center will thus be rehabilitated. A pride for Guillaume Tatu: “We are very proud of what is being done. The center will be open all year round and not just for school holidays. So that everyone, young and old can have good memories. It will cost us a little more than 3 million euros. It is a cost. But when public money is used well, it’s nice. »
Located in the heart of Semnoz, the leisure center has been undergoing rehabilitation since 2021. The work planned on the four accommodation chalets and the multipurpose room was intended to be exemplary from an energy and environmental point of view.
Delivery of the work is scheduled for the end of 2023, but children can be welcomed there during the day this summer.
“Annecy is a city where it’s good to grow old, I’m not sure it’s good to study there. » Guillaume Tatou
Deputy Mayor for Youth, Guillaume Tatu, talks about student life in Annecy. For the elected official, the city has a lot to do with students: “Annecy is a city where it’s good to grow old, I’m not sure it’s good to study there. »
In September 2021, the town hall of Annecy had offered an evening at the Brise-Glace to the students of Annecy. A student evening criticized by the opposition, in particular Denis Duperthuy who had launched during a municipal council: “while the deputy mayor is busy organizing parties”.
A pike that had injured Guillaume Tatu. He defends this initiative at Brise-Glace: “The goal was to present to the students some of the devices that could accompany them all year round, there was the youth information office, the popular relief, the cultural social centers… The concert was only a hook to bring students. It was a success 600 people arrived, 300 were refused because the sanitary measures did not allow us to welcome everyone. » Also in response, Guillaume Tatu announces the color: “We are going to start again, we are going to have a bigger “boom” at the Arcadium which will bring together more students and more actors. » A project that is intended as “a springboard of dynamism for students”, while Annecy has long neglected students for the deputy mayor, a dynamic that Guillaume Tatu wishes to change during his mandate: “On a receipt 37 BDE [Bureau des Etudiants] at the town hall, none had been received once before by a deputy mayor or the mayor of the commune. Students wishing to be better supported. Annecy must become a city of young people, I put all my energy into it. »
Period precariousness: “It’s not a women’s problem, it’s a social problem. »
Measure taken at the beginning of his term, free periodic protection at the university was a necessity for Guillaume Tatu: “It drives me crazy, the problem of menstrual poverty is not a women’s problem, it’s a social problem. » Annecy was thus the first city in France to offer periodic protection dispensers to its universities. A first step for the Deputy Mayor for Youth: “I try to ask the department and the region to do it in high schools and colleges. It is not only at the whim of the directors, that help is needed from the region. »
“A great event for young people on May 5 and 6”
The deputy mayor for youth is also questioned about the PEF, the educational and family project. A project launched in 2017 by the former municipality: ” […] how things have been done. It was a good idea with a real document published in 2017. The problem is that it was a bit philosophical. […] Then it was put in a drawer. » The current municipal team therefore took up the idea: “We are in the process of updating it with more than 100 players who are reflecting together on 9 working groups. Comment Imagine in the last 10 years youth policy. »
These various works carried out within the framework of the PEF, will be presented on May 5 and 6, 2022, on this occasion, these two days will also be an appointment for the youth of the Annecy basin: “There will be the arrival of Camille Etienne, [activiste climatique, l’une des représentants de la « Génération climat »]students and young people present their projects… It will be a great event for two days […] to show that there is a beautiful youth in Annecy. »
In an hour of interview, Guillaume Tatu also discusses criticism of the opposition, the presidential election, the campaign and the legislative elections. The former journalist also looks back on his former career, on his role during Jean-Luc Mélenchon’s campaign in 2017, and on the current media system.
