Double anniversary at the Grand Ducal Court for Claire and Maria Teresa
Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg celebrates her 66th birthday on Tuesday, the day after her daughter-in-law Princess Claire’s 37th birthday.
Double anniversary this beginning of the week at the Grand Ducal Court. This Monday, March 21, 2022, Princess Claire, wife of Prince Félix of Luxembourg – the second of the five children of Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Marie Teresa – celebrated her 37th birthday.
Two unpublished portraits of Princess Claire
For the occasion, the Palace released two new unpublished portraits of the young woman of German origin, mother of Princess Amalia and Prince Liam, aged 7 and a half and 5 years old.
This Tuesday, March 22, it is the turn of his mother-in-law to be in the spotlight on the accounts of the Court on social networks. On this day when the wife of the Luxembourg sovereign blows out her 66 candles, she thanks her for the wishes she received in a message accompanied by a photo of her wearing an elegant pink jacket with silver patterns worn over a black top.
But it was as a child that we discovered the Grand Duchess on her own Instagram account for this 66and birthday. And this very beautiful photo, of the one who was then called Maria Teresa Mestre and lived on the island of Cuba where she was born, is coupled with a new portrait. Also in black and white and inspired by this shot from the late 1950s, this one is signed by the Franco-Luxembourgish artist Jacques Schneider.
