Toulouse. The Toulousans are blown the bonus
Facing the penultimate of the Elite 1, the Leopards of Aquitaine were counting on returning to victory on Saturday afternoon on their lawn at Max-Rousié. But from the start of the match, they happen to pick cold on a try from the Toulouse center Martinod in the fifth down. Olivier Janzac’s troops reacted very quickly and Dorian Brioux exploited a surplus on the left side perfectly. Then it was Gavin Marguerite’s turn to pack his bags and allow his partners to take control of the match for the first time (8-6, 12th).
Without producing an extraordinary match, the locals took advantage of the indiscipline of Toulouse to have possession of the ball and escape the score with t additional tries in the space of a quarter of an hour, stamped by the back Thomas Lasvenes, winger Hamza Bachoukh and prop Vladica Nikolic.
The Villeneuve 13 players thus returned to the locker room at the break with a comfortable lead (24-6), thinking they had done the hardest part.
Deprived of the defensive bonus by a drop
But the second period was much more laborious and sluggish for the “green and white” lacking in turn discipline.
Deprived of balls for a good quarter of an hour, the Villeneuvois saw the Toulousains come back in their rear view mirror with two achievements signed Martinod and Guidez as well as a skill of Vick (24-18, 53rd). The players of the Pink City, not at all clumsy with the ball in hand, really posed problems for locals who were not sharp enough in the offensive field. Fortunately, the second line Dimitri Biscarro author of a big second half, removes a big thorn from the foot to his playmates, by registering a double.
Despite some scares at the end of the match and a game in AC, the Leopards of Aquitaine still managed to keep the win of the match (35-22), even depriving the Toulouse of a defensive bonus at the last minute (drop of Kriouache), which would however have been deserved on the physiognomy of this meeting.
