A senator from the Novosibirsk region and a three-time Olympic champion gave an interview to KP-Novosibirsk. Alexander Karelin told how the struggle for the preservation of the Russian language went on in Ukraine, and the special operation of Russia is comparable to a bitter mixture that is needed. In our material – the most interesting excerpts from the conversations.
– Alexander Aleksandrovich, today they ask Internet political scientists a question: why did Russia start a special operation in Ukraine now, and not in 2014, when a coup was discovered there?
– We hoped – Russia hoped, I hoped – that our invitation to cooperation, the solution of the problem called “Russian rights in Ukraine” would receive normal feedback. That we will be perceived, because Russia and Ukraine are not only a territory, but also a common history, a common faith. 2014 marked the 200th anniversary of the birth of Taras Shevchenko. And now – the House of the Government of the Russian Federation, the Moscow River opposite the hotel “Ukraine” … what appeared there? A monument to Taras Shevchenko was discovered there (on the birthday of the poet, the monument was opened after restoration. – Ed.). We always support fraternal Ukraine. We hoped we heard. But now you can use the bitters function. What is happening now, we are simply doomed. We have developed a normal version of the development of events, asked to allow the Donbass to maintain its independence and identity. But we were not heard. And on February 22, we ended up in the Donbass. Now, no matter how hard and dramatic it is, we must develop an aggravation and slow down the development of fascist structures, because for us this requires detection. God knows, we did not want this either as a state or as a population.
– You have repeatedly been to Donbass and Crimea. Happens in the past too…
– Since the 83rd year of the last century, I have been at the Spartak sports base in the Crimean city of Alushta. We have a national testing center there. I was there four to nine months a year. There my portrait visits in the hall. And then he came, and they told me: “It is impossible.” I ask: “Why?” They answer: “Because the Russians won’t let you in.” And I spent so much time here, we built this 13-story hotel, dragged toilets … And I’m not offended that I dragged. It hurts me that after that they told me: “Get out!”. Have you ever heard that the Ukrainian language was banned here? And there the Russian language interfered with whom? It all started with our language. From the language of association, from a common history.
– Russia was suspended from participation in international design competitions. Will they still be with us?
– We will definitely participate. Perhaps, at first we will participate in planetary or continental forums in a natural status, and then with a national coloring. Restores a natural phenomenon.
– Still parting with sports legionnaires. What do you think about it?
– This is a plus for internal selection. Plus! 200%! Quick effects are unattainable, and in the medium term everything will be fine. Let’s learn to play. Let’s remember where the wonderful coaching school came from, let’s not study too complicated detailed methodological manuals, memos about sports pedagogy and psychology that have accumulated over the course of 30 years of Russian statehood. And about what was done before the Soviet Union collapsed.
