Online diagnosis
“The client makes an appointment on the internet, we have predefined questions that allow us to establish a more or less precise diagnosis” explains to The Independent Opinion, GuillaumeMurfy technician in Toulouse since November 2019. On the company’s website, the customer can indicate the reference of his device or simply upload a photo of the product. From this request, the technician performs a “predict” in which he warns the customer of a possible purchase of parts.
Most Murfy based on a fixed flat rate of 85 euros for any action. To this amount must be added the price of any new or second-hand spare parts necessary to device repair. Ecological concerns
Since its creation in 2018, technicians have noticed a increase in demand. “In one day, I perform about 8 interventions per day”, says Guillaume. The ecological, but also economic interest has changed the situation. Now consumers reconditioning rather than new.
Fifteen years ago, people bought new appliances on the internet because the prices were very attractive. They then shunned the stores and the big brands because they considered that it was more commendable to buy a new product rather than to repair its device”, analyzes Guillaume.
Today, all businesses, including small craftsmen, have a website where they sell products in match market prices. “With the rise in the price of raw materials, the price of new devices has increased considerably. Between ecology and economy, people therefore wanted the repair”, estimates the technician from Toulouse.
Murfy recruits in Occitania
In 2022, the start-up wants to hire 5 to 10 people in the departments of Tarn-et-Garonne, Haute-Garonne, Gers, Ariège, Lot and Hautes-Pyrénées. positions of new and experienced technicians are to be filled. A team leader position is also advertised. “The company is starting to settle in the South-West, we will soon be launching a survey to find a workshop space in Toulouse“, details Guillaume before specifying:
Very often, when a workshop is born, an academy is created. It’s a way for us to train individuals working as a technician for several months. We have difficulty finding experienced or independent technicians because we have more offers than requests. We then recover people in professional retraining, we train them and in the long term, we recruit them on permanent contracts.”
