Toulouse: a driver rushes into a police car, three officials injured
Three police officers were injured this morning in Toulouse during an accident which would have been caused by an individual on the run. The driver, also injured in the accident, was arrested.
Around 5 a.m. on Sunday morning March 20, police officers from the Toulouse Right Bank anti-crime brigade wanted to check a driver in the Bagatelle district. The latter refused control and fled towards the Pradettes sector.
Chemin Ramelet-Mundi, an accident occurred with a screen-printed police car arriving in the opposite direction. The driver, who according to initial information was driving without a driving license at the wheel of a Renault Clio, hit the police car. A very violent shock.
This driver, but also the three officials who revealed themselves in the Peugeot 3008 were injured. One of the policemen even passed out. “His state of health has since improved,” says Didier Martinez, regional secretary of the SGP Police Unit union.
The four injured, taken care of by firefighters, were evacuated to the Purpan hospital and the Ambroise-Paré clinic to take check-ups.
The SGP Police Unit union gives “its full support to the crews involved and wishes a speedy recovery to our injured colleagues”. And the regional secretary Didier Martinez asks “the greatest firmness against the author, in a context of total ambient impunity which characterizes this kind of unacceptable behavior”.
