Annecy. The L214 association denounces the practices of the Le Gaulois brand
L214, association for the defense of animals, configured this Saturday, March 19 in front of the Monoprix store in the Center Courier. A dozen members distributed leaflets and signed a petition to report the actions of the brand Le Gaulois (LDC group), which sold, among other things, chickens. They believe that their “Oui c’est bon” label, through which the brand claims to accept the welfare of poultry, is “a hoax”. The association filed a complaint last February for mistreatment of volatiles and is now filing a complaint against Le Gaulois and the LDC group for “consumer deception”. “Around twenty chickens are crowded per square meter. They are raised in particularly cruel conditions and are fed with GMO soy, which is contrary to the commitments of the “Yes it’s good” approach”, explained David, an activist.
The association carried out a survey in the largest farm in France, in Mayenne, revealing dying animals, others suffering from stereotypies (repetitive gestures due to boredom) or fractures. The brand would refuse to sign the European Chicken Commitment document, intended to reduce the suffering of animals. This operation, of national dimension, was organized in forty cities, including that of Annecy.
