Places abandoned and looted since 2019
Building Tersud originally hosted companies who had their premises there but the condominium one ended up losing ground. After being gradually abandoned, the premises were totally looted and damaged. To the point that the building finished entirely boned. Partial deconstruction of the building had been carried out to remove the fragile parts of the facades and secure the premises. It is now a sad sight that the building offers motorists taking the Toulouse ring road…
A major renovation project planned
Located at 5 avenue Marcel Dassault, the Tersud building with the look of a “skeleton”, had found a new owner at the beginning of March 2020. The company Vinci Immobilier then announced their project for the “rehabilitation of the existing building with a surface area of 13,500 meters2 offices spread over six levels”, as well as “the renovation of approximately 430 parking spaces”. And according to the schedule of the construction company, the renovated building should be delivered in 2022. However, no construction has started and the places are even now squatted.
many caravans
In this month of March 2022, the building Tersud is indeed squatted, as revealed by a journalist fromToulouse news. At the foot of the building visible from the ring road, these are a dozen caravans who occupied the premises. According to Marc Ballesteros, territorial director at Vinci Immobilier, these caravans have been present since Monday, March 14.
“We have a video surveillance system on the site which allowed us to alert us to the arrival of the squatters who settled on Monday. We approached the competent authorities and filed a complaint”.
The Covid, the main cause of delays
Since the covid-19 crisis, most companies have been forced to review their organizational system. As explained to Toulouse News Marc Ballesteros, economic crisis impacted the pace of letting of offices. But the group Vinci Real Estate do not lose hope.
“The return to growth and business confidence are encouraging signs that allow us to hope to find investors quickly.”
If everything is in order, the main objective of the construction company Vinci Immobilier will be to start work by the end of the year. The building will be refurbished with the initial “carcass”. The company also specifies that it will be in an approach “the most ecological possible that the site will be held”.
