Toulouse: Secours Populaire: “Financial donations remain essential to help Ukraine”
Secretary general of Secours populaire 31, Houria Tareb details the teams of this national association, working to help the populations. Maintenance.
The national Secours Populaire received €50,000 in donations. What are they going to be used for?
Our will is to work with our Polish and Ukrainian partners who are concerned at the level of the borders in order to establish the list of the needs of the populations. This aid supports the Ukrainian population who have remained there, but also the refugees who have arrived in France. A distribution of 1,000 emergency food and hygiene kits, toys, equipment, baby products, etc., are among other things planned. Not to mention prepaid cards and accommodation, especially in Poland. Currently our partners do not have premises to store these products. The teams try to see with the institutions to find storage places and thus be able to intervene over time.

Before the war, this center located near the Odessa area, was to be used to organize a “friends of the world” village created by the Secours Populaire, for children aged 7 to 14 years. It is this place that now welcomes these people.
As in all conflicts, you also have to think about the aftermath. What does the Secours Populaire do for this?
As with all conflicts, funds are released as the situation evolves. And we are thinking about the next steps for lasting emergency aid.
Despite the influx of donations, should we continue to mobilize?
