Thessaloniki: Burglars took cash and a calf
Neighbors and police officers woke up inside Christos and Agi Kalaitzidis, owners of a butcher shop in Thessaloniki, informing them that strangers had broken into the butcher shop they maintain in Thessaloniki.
The perpetrators broke the glass of the butcher shop and entered the store, moving both to the cash register and to the refrigerator with the meat, while they also had bags with them to transport the meat that they intended to steal.
As Christos Kalaitzidis told ANT1 and the show “Good Morning Greece”, the burglary took place between midnight and 01:30 at night.
“They took all the coins from the cash register, they took about 500 euros and several pieces of meat, beef and pork,” said the owner of the butcher shop.
The burglars put the pieces of meat in bags they had with them. However, a bag, torn by the weight, but perhaps also by their hurried movements, as they were noticed by the locals who started shouting at them and calling for help, left it behind in the store, from which they ran away.
A few days ago, the butcher shop maintained by the owners’ father, in another area of Thessaloniki, had become a target of burglars.
