A second youngster from the Academy in the Elite Tour of Euro U17! Ritchy Valmé has just been selected in the French team to participate in the qualification phase which will take place in Luxembourg. Summoned at the last minute to replace Amiénois defender Siaka Bakayoko, the player of the 2005 generation joins the selection at Clairefontaine, this Friday, along with his teammate Lisandru Olmeta. Trained at INF Clairefontaine and called up in U16, the young fullback already has two official selections with the French U17s.
A ticket to Israel at the key
With Les Bleuets, the two Monegasques will join the Grand Duchy from March 20 to 27. José Alcocer’s players will first face Luxembourg on Wednesday March 23, before challenging England on Saturday March 26. Both matches will be held in Hesperange. In order to qualify for the Euro in Israel (May 16 to June 1, 2022), the France U17 team will have to finish at the top of their group or be among the seven best runners-up. Note that this group 5 will ultimately only be made up of three selections, after the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee to suspend Russian teams from all European competitions.
