Fenix Toulouse reveals its future face
Three departures, two arrivals and three young people from the club signing their first professional contract, the Toulouse club has practically completed its recruitment for the next financial year.
Philippe Dallard, the president of Fenix Toulouse unveiled this morning, during a press conference held at the sports hall, the future face of his team for next season. The Toulouse club will indeed face three departures at the end of June. Luka Sokolic, the excellent Croatian defender who has become the boss of the Toulouse central sector in two seasons, will unfortunately leave the Pink City club (for family reasons) and could rebound in Germany or Switzerland. To replace him, the Toulouse leaders are studying several avenues, but President Dallard did not reveal a name, just assured “that a defender was going to be recruited.”
The Diallo trail
According to our information, it seems that the most serious track leads to left-back Bakary Diallo (27 years old, 1m92, 87 kg), who is currently playing at Vardar Skopje in Macedonia. His defensive profile would have appealed to the Fenix staff especially as Bakary Diallo knows the French league well. Trained in Créteil, he also subsequently played in Pontault-Combault and Tremblay.
Another departure to overcome: that of the goalkeeper Robin Cantegrel who wishes to prepare his retraining and would therefore have found a project in this direction in Pontault-Combault (current resident of Proligue and in the running for accession to Starligue). In order to support Jef Lettens next season in the Toulouse goals, the Fenix cast his evolution on the experienced goalkeeper Teodor Paul (34 years old, 1m94, 94 kg). The Slovak international is currently wearing the colors of Nîmes where he has been playing since 2017 after having played for a long time in the Hungarian championship.
Finally, the young and talented Serbian international Uros Borzas (22, left back) has chosen to join the Norwegian club Elverum, a regular in the Champions League where he hopes to increase his playing time and continue his ascent. . If the Fenix have no plans to replace him for the moment, a new participation in the European League could be a game-changer.
To be also complete, the Fenix Toulouse signed a first professional contract with three players from its training center and who are already evolving within the pro group: wingers Téo Jarry and Romain Giraudeau, as well as the right back Matthew Marmier.
