Decorate your room with Feng Shui
How to arrange your bedroom with Feng Shui? Answer today with Valérie Poussigue, founder ofOn the way to oneself 06. As you know, the Feng Shui study is carried out through several analysis grids, and in particular the school of the eight palaces.
The School of the Eight Palaces
Before detailing the tricks in favor of sleep, let’s first discover the school of the eight palaces. It is based on the principle of favorable orientations associated with the Kua figures (to calculate them it’s HERE). In fact, this school defines the placement and the favorable orientations and those which are less so for each inhabitant according to the dates of birth. Objective therefore: tmake the most of favorable personal energies by using good direction when in a stationary position. For example when you are lying in bed or sitting at the desk or on your sofa.
Depending on the result of the calculation, one is part of the East group or the West group. Then we can determine eight locations and directions. Four will be favorable and we will seek to activate them, the other four will be unfavorable and therefore to be avoided.
Some tips for decorating your bedroom
To promote sleep and rest, Feng Shui can give us indications. Ideally, the bedroom should be located in a yin area of the dwelling, so in a calm and quiet part, such as at the back of the house. We will rather put on soothing colors, and we will avoid the range of reds, which are too dynamic for this room.
On the other hand, if we also want to promote the love of the couple in the bedroom, it is important to offer a pleasant, clean and orderly species. Pictures of children in this room will be avoided. On the other hand, we can install representations that symbolize love in its forms. Couple photos, or even paintings, sculptures..
For single people, Valérie advises creating a physical and symbolic place for their future partner. For example by sleeping on one side of the bed and not in the middle, by making room in the dressing room or by having everything double: two pillows and two bedside tables.
Finally, one last piece of advice: Remember to balance the yin and yang energies. If you’re a woman, avoid making your bedroom a candy box with predominantly feminine markers. Introduce elements into the decor that invite a more yang, more masculine energy.
