Presidential 2022. Yannick Jadot cancels his meeting in Toulouse for “calendar constraints”

It was to be one of the stages of his “tour of possibilities”. The displacement of Yannick Jadot scheduled for Wednesday, March 16, 2022 at Toulouseis canceled for “calendar constraints”sound explains the press team to Toulouse news.
The war in Ukraine upsets the “tour of possibilities”
Yes the event is still listed on the official campaign website, the green candidate will not come to the Pink City. “The schedule for the tour of possibilities had been fixed before the war in Ukraine, and we had to adapt to current events”, continues his staff, who denies any “stroke of fatigue”, as some of our colleagues have suggested. The conflict in Eastern Europe has shaken up his agenda, on which “de many tv shows are notably places to be grafted”. After participating on Monday evening on TF1 in the special program “Face à la Guerre” with seven other candidates, he will also be in “Élysée 2022” against Éric Zemmour, Thursday, on France 2.
“The round trip by train” too time-consuming
Irony of fate: while environmentalists are opposed to the LGV Bordeaux-Toulouse (which should put Toulouse 3h10 from Paris in 2032, against 4h10 today), Yannick Jadot – who inclined ban on domestic flights when there is an alternative less than four hours by train – himself had a glimpse of the difficulties of getting to France’s fourth largest city by train. “Round trip by train” in the Occitan capital no longer transited in his tight schedule… And such a trip would have taken up too much time on his campaign.
A great interview to appear on Actu.fr
But Yannick Jadot continues his main meetings with the press. This Wednesday, the candidate also received a team from the national editorial staff ofActu.fr, at his Parisian HQ, as part of an interview to be published in the coming weeks.
A meeting format that was intended to be offbeat
In Toulouse, the environmental candidate was to hold this Wednesday an outdoor encounter at Square De Gaulle, at 1 p.m.
As he did in February at Montpellier (Herault), the MEP has indeed chosen a format of speeches and debates that is a little out of step with the classic meeting in an overheated room.
The idea? “Encourage meetings, encourage exchanges”, explained his team. “We invest in our emblematic places, to revive our democracy, to respond to climate emergencies and fight against the explosion of inequalities”.
Will he come to Toulouse before the first round?
It remains to be seen whether Yannick Jadot will still come to Toulouse, where the green electorate is traditionally very mobilized, before the first round… “No date has been set for his arrival in Toulouse at this stage”, according to his team, but “it is not impossible” for him to make an incursion into the Pink city: “We adapt day by day”.
