In the exhibition of drawings opened by the government – Lithuania through the eyes of Visaginas schoolchildren
An exhibition of drawings by five schools from Visaginas and the Visaginas Culture Center “Here is Lithuania” was opened today by the Government, which presents creative interpretations of students on the topic of Lithuanian freedom.
“We really can’t say everything and sometimes it’s hard to express words, it’s much easier and more influential to say a lot of things in colors and plots. Therefore, what we see in your drawings – light, kindness, how you see your homeland – is very important, especially these days, ”said Jurgita Šiugždinienė, the Minister of Education, Science and Sports, at the opening of the exhibition.
The plots of the students’ drawings are full of color, life and an unfettered sense of freedom. In the drawings, one can see the simple but infinitely important everyday joys of children. The theme “Here – Lithuania” evoked various associations for the authors of the drawings, therefore their works are rich in symbols – from a stork to a heart filled with love for the Homeland. In their drawings, the students of Visaginas highlighted historical and mythological symbols that were not subject to time – the iron wolf, King Mindaugas, the television tower, the Vilnius Cathedral, and the monument to the Three Crosses. The signs of Visaginas are also in children’s drawings, because Visaginas is an integral part of Lithuania. In their drawings, students are reminded that the state we all build.
The opening of the exhibition was also attended by the Mayor of Visaginas Municipality Erlandas Galaguz, the Audronis Imbrasas Cultural Center and the students of Visaginas and their teachers, who were able to get acquainted with the Government House.
The exhibition opened at the government features 20 drawings. You can see the full exhibition here: https://visaginokultura.lt/cia-lietuva/
