Belgium executives will not be selected at the end of the month
This Friday, the coach of the Belgium will announce its list for next friendly matches of the Red Devils which is played on March 26 and 29 against ireland and the Burkina Faso faso.
And for the occasion, Robert Martinez a decision to leave room for those with the least experience and not to summon some of its executives. Indeed, he announced that he would only take players who had less than 50 caps.
We should therefore not see Thibaut Courtois, Kevin de Bruyne, Eden Hazard or Romelu Lukaku. And while Lukaku and Hazard aren’t getting much playing time at clubs this season, the manager has made it clear that there won’t be any exceptions for them.
“I won’t make any exceptions. Because then there’s no point in taking a different approach, so it’s better not to. We’ve already planned for a long time to only convene players with less than 50 caps. So I’m not going to change that now,” the Spanish coach confirmed to ‘Nieuwsblad’.
“The current group of potential internationals is already very large. Even without players with more than 50 caps, I can easily find 30 complete Red Devils with international experience”, he added, making it clear that, despite the absence of the executives, there might not be so many surprises in his group.
