UNESCO accused of ignoring persecution of Russian language and culture in Ukraine
UNESCO has failed to notice the events in the Russian language and culture in Ukraine eight times, said Alexander Kuznetsov, Russia’s permanent representative to the organization. According to him, today UNESCO does not receive the protection of Russia against the background of the “witch hunt” that has begun in Western countries.
Kuznetsov announced this at the seventh extraordinary session of the UNESCO Executive Board, noted TASS. Today, as a narrow diplomat, the threat to civilians and the public comes from Ukraine from the Kiev regime and “nationalist battalions”, and not from the Russian military.
“Neo-Nazis place tanks, artillery and MLRS near the walls of kindergartens and schools, equip firing positions on the roofs of houses, hide behind women and children as a“ human shield ”,” Kuznetsov said.
According to him, “the uncontrolled distribution of thousands of firearms became the criminal outcome of the Kiev regime.” The Russian permanent representative at the organization noted that in Ukrainian cities “armed gangs of marauders and robbers are rampaging.”
“Unfortunately, the Secretariat suggested ignoring them, which is not surprising, since all these eight years it has stubbornly ignored the persecution of the Russian language and culture in Ukraine,” Kuznetsov added.
In December 2021, the Director-General of the Organization made conclusions on education, science and culture, Audrey Azoulay. According to her, the importance of the Russian Federation in the organization dates back to Soviet times.
