Thessaloniki: 1,700 new parking spaces are coming – Changing area in Toumba

This is the Mayor of Thessaloniki Konstantinos Zervas, informing yesterday (14/03) the Municipal Council about the development of a series of important projects. Smart cities projects 17.7 million euros
In his keynote address at the Municipal Council meeting, Mr. Zervas pointed out that the Municipality of Thessaloniki has submitted proposals for funding through the Recovery Fund but also through program “Antonis Tritsis” projects in the smart city sector as a whole amounting to EUR 17.7 million.
In particular, o Municipality of Thessaloniki claims funding of 9.9 million euros from the Recovery Fund and 7.8 million euros from the “Antonis Tritsis” program for projects that move on two main axes:
- They concern infrastructures that will support the computer systems of the Municipality of Thessaloniki in all its buildings, will make speeds and data security but also significant savings in the cost of communications.
- They concern smart services for the citizens, with 6th generation wi-fi, expansion of the Integrated Citizen Service Information System (OPSEP), energy savings, applications for civil protection and upgrading the quality of life of people with disabilities.
Gastronomic capital
In the meantime, Mr. Zervas made a special reference to the presentation for a few days by the Municipality of Thessaloniki of the logo with which Thessaloniki will be represented in the Network of Creative Cities of Gastronomy of Unesco.
