Jean-Luc Moudenc accuses the opposition of “degrowth”
While the 3rd metro line got a final green light a few days ago, Jean-Luc Moudenc addressed a tackle to the Toulouse opposition. In a press release, the mayor of Toulouse described their hostility to the project as “growth ambition generalized”.
Last week, the environmental commission of inquiry issued a approval for construction of a 3rd metro line in the Pink City. A new step that concretizes the project after months marked by disagreements between the municipal majority and the opposition. Jean-Luc Moudenc denounces “political opponents” blinded by their catastrophism and by their ambition to generalized decline“.

“Trust in the genius of man”
For them, any new construction is a defile environmental. But for me and for the majority of Toulouse residents, it is more than ever need to be ambitious and to trust in the genius of man, to build equipment that has pushed us to tackling the climate challenge“, says the mayor of Toulouse in a press release.
The first city councilor also tackles “the Cassandres who […] wanted to sow doubt, in the lead associated with the municipal opposition who publicly confirmed his rejection”, boasting a project “adapted to the need, less traffic jams and better air quality”. Jean-Luc Moudenc concludes by being satisfied with the work to start soon of the 3rd metro line, which is scheduled to come into service in 2028.
