Berlin and Brandenburg probably want to stick to measures
Berlin and Brandenburg apparently also want to keep a corona restriction on the so-called “Day of Freedom” on March 20th. Again daily mirror reported on Monday, the Berlin Senate will meet on Saturday for a special session. The Infection Protection Ordinance, which currently expires on Sunday, should be reinstated next Monday. It would then apply as a transitional arrangement until March 31. As a relaxation, the Senate wants to decide that the daycare centers will return to regular operation.
The temporary extension of the measures cannot yet be decided at the Senate meeting on Tuesday, the newspaper reports, citing Senate circles. To do this, the Federal Council would first have to create the possibility for further regulations by the federal states beyond March 19 with a planned change to the Infection Protection Act on Friday.
Due to the pandemic situation with an incidence of 1500 and heavily loaded clinics, Brandenburg does not want to relax for the time being. Brandenburg’s Health Minister Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) will, according to one Report from the Bild newspaper even tighten some corona rules.
According to the report, a draft for a new Brandenburg Infection Protection Ordinance from March 18 provides that access restrictions and the FFP2 mask requirement and hygienic distance when shopping, on public transport and in many cultural and health facilities will continue to apply. Medical masks must therefore be worn in schools, and corona tests should be carried out three times a week for the unvaccinated and those who have recovered. At universities, for example, there should be an obligation to wear medical masks and a daily obligation to test those who have not been vaccinated and those who have recovered.
3G rule for restaurants, 2G plus rule for large events
According to the picture report, the 3G rule should continue to apply in restaurants, hotels, cultural and sports facilities as well as at events and when visiting the hairdresser. At major events with more than 1000 visitors, Health Minister Nonnemacher wants to abolish the upper limit for participants, but the 2G plus rule should apply there. The latter also applies to clubs and discotheques. A corona test obligation should also exist for all visitors to clinics and nursing homes; vaccinated or recovered staff must be tested for corona twice a week.
Depending on the current infection situation, it should be possible to tighten these regulations in corona hotspots. According to the Bild newspaper, it is planned for the state government to discuss the new set of rules on Monday and Tuesday. Announcement: allegedly after the federal-state round on Thursday. The rules should initially apply from March 18th to April 2nd.
