Football / National: After FCVB-Annecy (1-2), from Annecy joy to Caladoise bitterness
Hervé Della Maggiore (FCVB coach) : “It’s a disappointment to lose at home against a direct competitor on the way up. We wanted to put some energy into the first half by playing with the wind. I think we succeeded in that by not getting Lots of chances but the biggest. We came into the second half well by opening the scoring but then we lacked depth. Annecy didn’t get a lot of action but were very realistic. A draw would have been logical. We lost a game but the other teams are struggling too. We have nine games left where everyone can beat everyone in a complicated championship. There will still be surprises. It’s up to us to be part of the good ones… There will be no simple match. It’s up to us to remobilize to start a positive series next week against Saint-Brieuc.”
Tomorrow is another day…Everything is still possible for Villfrefranche, for us as for Bourg…(Laurent Guyot)
Laurent Guyot (FC Annecy coach) : “We had a solid match, when we had no choice and against a very fit team. We had put in place a different game plan, let’s do what we usually do (4-1 -4-1) not to counter Villefranche but to mobilize the players on something new. It allowed us to have a little more freshness. It worked, so much the better. It’s a good thing to have also saw the entries into the game (Bosetti) which bring a plus. It also allowed me to revive certain players (El Jaouhari). Tomorrow is another day. There are nine matches left and everything is still possible, for us but also for Bourg and Villefranche. I’m proud of the guys who showed a great ability to react in front of many of our supporters. It’s a good operation in the standings. We’re going to remain humble after this victory, it’s still a feat to come and win here. There was intensity, a great fight.”
