Film Festival in Luxembourg – The LuxFilmFest crowns “Atlantis” by Yuri Ancarani

LUXEMBOURG – Among the 116 films screened, the International Jury directed by Elia Suleiman has chosen to reward the film “Atlantis” by Yuri Ancarani.
Marked by the presence of renowned guests (Elia Suleiman, Terry Gilliam, Ari Folman, etc.), the Luxembourg City Film Festival has found its audiences in theaters, after a 2020 edition interrupted in full progress and a 2021 edition in hybrid format. Nearly 16,000 people took part in the event this year (including nearly 10,000 indoor spectators), which exceeded the organizers’ own expectations.
Among the 116 films screened, the International Jury directed by Elia Suleiman chose to reward the film “Atlantide” by Yuri Ancarani (Grand Prize – by Orange). “The jury offers the prize to a poetic film which is a sensory experience with a bold and visceral realization”, can we in the press release published this Saturday evening. the Press Jury has chosen to award the Critics’ Prize to two films: “Hit The Road” by Panah Panahi and “Prayers For The Stolen” by Tatiana Huezo.
The Documentary Prize went to the Argentinian film labeled “Outside the Box”, “What Will Summer Bring” by Ignacio Ceroi. The new 2030 Award by Luxembourg Aid & Development was awarded to “Aya” by Simon Coulibaly Gillard, with a Special Mention to “Prayers For The Stolen” by Tatiana Huezo. As for the VR Prize, it was awarded ex-aequo to “Goliath: Playing With Reality” by Barry Gene Murphy and May Abdalla and “We Are At Home” by Michelle and Uri Kranot.
