President Méric: “Faced with the rise of populism and extremism, everyone’s vigilance and mobilization is necessary”
The president of the departmental council of Haute-Garonne, Georges Méric, reacted to these degradations:
“These acts of vandalism on an exhibition defending universal and indivisible human rights are inadmissible. Faced with the worrying rise of populism and extremism in our country, the vigilance and mobilization of everyone is necessary to defend our values of equality, fraternity, tolerance and respect.
The 4th Meetings for Equality recall the importance of our commitments and our fights in favor of the fight against racism, anti-Semitism, xenophobia, homophobia or against violence against women. We must bequeath to future generations a peaceful and fraternal society, in which republican, democratic and equality values regain meaning and reality”.
