MEKH: Hungary’s natural gas and electricity supply is uninterrupted
Hungary’s natural gas and electricity supply is uninterrupted, gas distribution on the international cross-border pipelines is still in order, and the country’s natural gas reserves are adequate, according to Pál Ságvári, Vice President for Relations at the Hungarian Energy and Utilities Authority (MEKH).
According to the agency’s statement on Thursday, the vice-president spoke about it at a conference on the hydrogen industry in Budapest on Thursday, where he said that there are 1.4 billion cubic meters of natural gas in storage in Hungary, which means 2 2 percent filling.
On behalf of the MEKH, he expressed his condolences over the war in Ukraine and its tragic consequences. Pál Ságvári said that the office is constantly monitoring the developments in the conflict in Ukraine, taking into account the disruptions in energy and other utility services. He emphasized that the gas distribution on the Hungarian-Ukrainian cross-border natural gas pipeline is in order, that guaranteed export capacities have been available on the pipeline since 1 February, and that the distribution is typically directed to Ukraine, they wrote.
