The war broke out almost two weeks ago in Ukraine. Since then, actions have multiplied in Toulouse to help the battered population. In this spirit, the pastry chef Bassim Jubran of The Gentina House, also decided to get involved. Since this Wednesday, March 9he donates the profits from his “Russian cakes” in favor of the Ukrainian population.
The operation concerns the two Gentina pastries located in the neighborhoods of Carmes and Saint-Aubin, in the heart of Toulouse. Contacted by The Independent OpinionBassim Jubran indicates that “the action extends over the whole month of march“. He confides: “depending on the funds defined, it will surely be renewedbut I hope that by then, the conflicts will be appeased”.

Benefits reversed to associations
The day after the launch of the operation, the pastry chef made an initial observation: “the The people of Toulouse are rather united“. The praline cake, whose recipe is well guarded by the Gentina house, is priced at €3.90. The profits made will be distributed to various Toulouse associations dedicated to Ukrainians.
An idea that has been germinating in Bassim Jubran’s head for a discussion he had with one of his friends about the conflict. It is on this occasion that the pastry chef took over the production of Russian cakes, which was discontinued a few months ago. Bassim is now looking to creates partnerships with restaurants to scale up his operation.
