They are suspected of having privatized some Sidewalks of Toulouse to make a big profit. Seven men and four women, aged between 28 and 46, for the vast majority of Albanian nationality, must be tried by the Toulouse criminal court, Thursday 10 and Friday 11 March 2022, for pimping and human trafficking.
A monthly tax of 1000 euros per girl
Dismantled in 2019, this supposed network operated along United States Avenue. It “facilitated” the work of prostitutes from eastern countries (Albania, Romania, etc.) by charging them a monthly tax of around 1,000 euros. “Some of these prostitutes could earn up to 20,000 euros per month”, confides an investigator to Toulouse news.
In the space of 18 months, between January 2018 and May 2019, the men of the Toulouse PJ identified the three main links of the chain: the “patron”, one of whom, placed in pre-trial detention, continued to operate from… his cell; the “girls who collected the money”, a kind of madams ; and the henchmenwho ensured the safety of sex workers.
They encourage up to 20 years in prison
The defendants are from the same district of Tirana, the capital of Albania and sometimes, relatives. About twenty young women worked under their control.
Passable by the Assize Court, this case has been corrected. No popular jury, therefore. This does not prevent potential repeat offenders from encouraging up to 20 years in prison.
