these ten female figures who make Toulouse shine
As part of the first edition of the “Toulous’elles” event, the city’s attractiveness agency a decision of combining the Pink City with the feminine. On this occasion, ten ambassadors were honoured. “It is 10 women who make Toulouse shine internationally“, declares the attractiveness agency, while on this March 8, it is the International Women’s Day.
Ambassadors in the spotlight
For five years, the “ambassadors club” of Toulouse regularly organize mixed events in order to showcasing Toulouse’s excellence in all its dimensions. “This year, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, we wanted to honor ten women who fly the colors of the Pink City“, Explain Muriel Martinpublic relations manager for the attractiveness agency.
For good reason, “the city of Toulouse a tendency to be masculinized with the monopolization of sectors like aeronautics or rugby. While women were proving to be in the spotlight in many areas”. Sport, gastronomy, culture, science, crafts… The ten ambassadors chosen by the agency come from different backgrounds but are all driven by the desire to make Toulouse shine beyond its borders.
Who are they ?
- Philippine de Renty has found its place in the world ofArts and crafts after a career as a freelance graphic designer. She is the founder of kraft&you since 2017. A brand specializing in storage accessoriesmade from an innovative and eco-responsible material made in Occitania : the vegan leather.
- Virginie Desarnauts made her name known in the TV series “Premiers Baisers” or the film “Comme une image” by Agnès Jaoui in 2004. Nearly twenty years later, and a career well conducted in television and cinema, Virginie Desarnauts is an actress and the current artistic director of the Grenier Théâtre, in Toulouse.
- Corinne Joffre shines in the sectors of Science and Education. Coming from Lyon, she adopted the Pink City to finish her studies there in 2003. Currently, she is general secretary D’ANITI. This is the Interdisciplinary Institute in Artificial Intelligence supported by theFederal University of Midi-Pyrenees gathering 200 researchers, 33 laboratories research and a about fifty companies.
- Belen Rosado-Boulet was born in Madrid. Trained as an engineer, she adopted Toulouse more than 20 years ago. Passionate about the subjects of “Social, Societal and Environmental Responsibility” which she deepened as part of an MBA at TBS Education. She is currently Territorial Development Manager Occitanie to pay Renewable EDPs, world’s fourth largest producer of renewable energies.
- Lagier Pearl, originally from Perpignan, followed a course in Life Sciences and Management. Then she worked in Marketing and Communication in the private sector, whose Galeries Lafayette From toulouse. Then she trained at “Fund raising” that she exercised within the Foundation of TBS. She is the manager of PoWe, company specializing in strategic and operational sponsorship support and collection of funds.
- Sandra Lampee Baumgartner is director of Grand Hotel de l’Opera, for 10 years. Originally from Austria, she settled in Toulouse in 2003 and then in 2012, definitively. She will become vice-president then president of the hotel club of the Pink City until 2017. A mother, she is currently at the head of a group of 20 people.
- Cathy Meliet writes the history of the restoration in Toulouse. She directs two high places of gastronomy toulouse: the restaurants I Go and The Good Life. An opportunity for her to pay tribute to the local products and producers of the region, and in particular of Gerswhere she is from.
- Lezana Placette and Alexia Richard are two big high-level athletes. The Toulousaines are part of the French beach volleyball team. They were especially sacred champions of France two consecutive years in 2020 and 2021. Based at the Pôle France Beach Volley in CREPS of Toulousethey travel to tournaments all over the world to prepare for the Paris Olympic Games in 2024.
- Lucie Schmitz a prison soaring in the sector of the tourism. She is currently the General Manager of Manatour group. The company organizes visits to industrial and scientific sites in the Region.
