In recent weeks, the price of fuel has continued to increase in Haute-Garonne and more especially in Toulouse. Several stations in the Pink City now set the price of fuel at two euros per litre.
“We’re fed up”
According to a quick consultation with some Toulouse residents, annoyance seems general about this price increase. For some, their workplace is at least 20 km away from home and gasoline has become a real budget to watch. This is the case of Arthur Cresset, 43, who confides in Toulouse news.
“Lately, I’ve been tightening my belt. I travel almost 50 km a day to get to my place of work. The prices keep going up, we’re fed up.”
On the side of the students discontent is also present. Although the inflation bonus helped many, non-scholarship students could not benefit from it. This is the case of 21-year-old Yanis:
“I don’t have a scholarship and therefore not eligible for the inflation bonus. I drive to my school every day because I have no choice. To pay for my gas, I work every Saturday but it’s really a big budget which makes a dent in my salary”.
Some tips for finding the cheapest stations
Several websites offered to their Internet users to find the stations cheapest around. A method that has been adopted by many users including Théo, another student from Toulouse.
“Looking a little on the internet I discovered the existence of several sites showing the cheapest stations nearby. I only go to the first three, that’s already less”.
This is particularly the case of the site « Pleinmoinscher.fr » offering an interactive map made from government data. Once on the page, just enter the place you are looking for for the prices of each nearby station to appear.
