Toulouse: new stage this Monday for the modernization site of the Matabiau station
A new stage opens this Monday in the modernization of the Toulouse Matabiau SNCF station, with access to modified trains. As of Monday, March 7, no trains will be running on tracks 7 and 8. Eventually, this project will make the station accessible to the disabled with the creation of a passenger hall and new shops.
Initiated since 2017, the renovation of the Toulouse Matabiau station continues. The underpass on the north side, closed since the beginning of the year, led to its change. Its widening and the installation of accessible lifts and escalators to make the platforms accessible to all will require, for several weeks, a development of the paths and modifications in the reception of trains. During this period, new service areas will open in stations, offering visitors and travelers more modern, larger and more comfortable facilities.
No trains on tracks 7 and 8 this Monday
As part of the work to improve accessibility to the station’s northern underpass, train reception tracks will be temporarily closed during 2022. These closures are necessary to ensure the creation of locations for future elevators and escalators, which allow everyone to access the platforms from the underpass.
From March 7 to May 8: no trains run on tracks 7 and 8 with an evolution of the station spaces from April 13. From May 9 to July 15, no train is circulating on tracks 5 and 6. From July 18 to September 23, no train is circulating on tracks 3 and 4. Certain parts of the platforms concerned will be inaccessible to passengers during these periods.
During the works, SNCF Gares & Connexions invites travelers to consult the regional transport website trainlio.sncf.com as well as the SNCF app.
