Haute-Savoie. Five objects from Annecy revealed and sold by Maison Rossini
You have a cluttered attic and you’re not sure what’s in there. It’s time to sort it out, you may come across a nugget. But as it is very difficult to know what its value is, calling on an expert is necessary. Or, the Parisian house Rossini, specializing in auctions, is coming to Annecy on March 8 at the Imperial. This is the occasion or never to present to specialists your objects that you think are valuable. An auctioneer and two experts will make a free estimate of your objects and will offer to sell them, in their own auction room, established in the Drouot district of Paris.
A minimum price is determined by both parties. If it is not reached during the sale, the object can be presented again during another session, or returned to its owner. The auctioneer obviously tries to sell it as expensive as possible, since he charges a commission of 22.8%. In general, three months pass between the moment you entrust your property and its sale. Of the 20,000 objects that the Maison Rossini estimates each year in France, they keep only 10%. Not everything is suitable to start a new life in the auction room. Much of it is kindly, diplomatically directed to the flea market.
Last year, the Rossini house came to Annecy. Nearly 90 people had come to present objects in a hotel in Annecy. Including owners of a set of jewelry estimated between 60 and 100,000 euros. But they had left with their possessions… all excited to possess such a precious treasure. To date, nearly forty have already registered. But François Xavier Poncet, auctioneer is convinced that they will be more numerous. He explains: “The television show “Affaire concluded” has democratized our activity. People are no longer complex with the idea of selling objects that they have sometimes held for generations. Last year, the Annecy collection had some nice surprises in store for them.
Mandatory appointments are made with François-Xavier Poncet on 06 20 14 33 52 or by email: [email protected]. Tuesday, March 8 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at L’Impérial Palace. The team is made up of Benoît Triffault-David: specialist in jewellery, gold coins and old coins. François-Xavier Poncet: general auctioneer for works of art from Antiquity to the 19th centuryand century and Quentin Breda, specialist in the arts of the XXand century.
