Fight Aids Monaco and Princess Stéphanie, in solidarity with Ukraine
The Foundation relayed the appeal of the Joint United Nations Program on HIV, UNAIDS, on its social networks.
Protecting healthcare personnel and ensuring the continuity of services in Ukraine. This is the mission of UNAIDS, present on the spot, to best help the population in the face of the conflict with Russia. An action for which Fight Aids Monaco expresses its solidarity, recalling that Ukraine is the second country most affected by HIV in this region of the world.
” Of an estimated 250,000 people living with HIV, the 156,000 people who are on antiretroviral therapy have only a few weeks of treatment left in front of them if access to care cannot be guaranteed because of the war. », Explains the Foundation, which adds that « the Ukrainian government and its partners have implemented one of the most effective policies in their area to combat HIV, and the Russian invasion now threatens to undo this progress. »

While Princess Stéphanie, President of the Foundation, participated in the creation of a collective work on the occasion of International Women’s Rights Day, she took the opportunity to pay tribute to the Ukrainian people. The Princess has created a small blue and yellow square, on which we can read the word “future”, followed by the drawing of a handshake, a symbol of peace and solidarity.
