Deloitte withdraws from Russia
Vienna (OTS) – Deloitte is hereby informed that after a detailed examination of the overall situation, economic activities in Russia and Belarus will be terminated.
Against the background of the Russian war against Ukraine and the associated far-reaching economic sanctions by the EU and the USA against Russia, Deloitte feels compelled to withdraw. Around 3,000 Deloitte employees on site are affected. In these difficult days, these colleagues receive the best possible support from the Deloitte network in order to achieve the necessary transformations in the best possible way.
Help for Ukraine
Deloitte is currently relying on humanitarian aid in the region for those directly affected by the war in Ukraine. For example, a Deloitte Foundation was set up in Poland, in which all of Deloitte’s aid is pooled. Deloitte Austria has already contributed EUR 100,000 to this aid project.
“Help for the local people is our top priority. Deloitte wants to make an emotional contribution here – we can best assess this through our offices in Poland, the next crises in the war region”, Harald Breit, CEO of Deloitte Austria.
Affected customers of Deloitte Austria
Customers of Deloitte Austria are also affected by the current sanctions – because they have their business center in Russia themselves, and on the other hand because they use services from Deloitte Russia via Deloitte Austria. Harald Breit: “We are currently evaluating all business relationships very carefully. We have urged all customers who may be affected to get in touch with our partners to avoid possible conflicts with the current sanctions and find common solutions.”
