the Made in Asia festival returns with a program on Japan
The Made in Asia festival met Asian culture in the spotlight. It returns to Toulouse after two turned upside down editions from Saturday 2 to Sunday 10 April 2022.
Black Samurai, Kimonos, Katcha-Katcha… The Japan is honored in this new edition of the Made in Asia festival. The meeting place for Asian culture enthusiasts is back at Toulouse after two years impacted by the health crisis. From Saturday 2 to Sunday 10 April 2022many activities are offered in the four corners of the pink city.
A “multidisciplinary, multi-mixed, multi-global, multi-hybrid” program
the Festival wants to be “quirky but very much alive”. For this great return to Toulouse, Japanese culture is the theme of this edition. “A small island country but so big culturally, Japan is unique! Both modern and traditional, it dresses especially for its food and literature. However, Japanese culture is not limited to this. And if we go beyond the clichés in order to discover a more contemporary Japan?”, explain the organizers of the festival in a press release.
An “always more varied” program is put forward. The festival describes itself as “multidisciplinary, multi-mixed, multi-world, multi-hybrid”. On the menu: no In-Queering cinema around the Asian LGBTQ+ community or the Taiwanese artist Charwei Tsai which offers an original project in the heart of the medieval.
