L1 (J27): OM beaten by Monaco
A Sunday evening shock in Ligue 1 as we like them, between two teams not in very good shape… OM thus conceded a draw at Troyes (1-1) last weekend. A second game without a win in Ligue 1 for the Phocaeans following the defeat against Clermont (0-2). Opposite, Monaco remained on three games without success in Ligue 1. Who to revive? At the quarter of an hour, a vigilant Nübel lay down well to capture the first shot on target of the meeting signed Guendouzi. The same Nübel superbly repelled with his fists an attempt signed Rongier a few moments later, while in the process, Payet did not frame an attempt. 0-0, the score at rest and if Marseille clearly dominated, the Marseille club did not get a lot of dangerous chances. He was also going to regret this fruitless domination in the second act.
Indeed, as in any self-respecting scenario of unsuccessful domination, OM were going to take a but in the second half. The Marseille club were surprised in the 67th minute, when Gelson Martins scored from close range from the right following an initial strike from Kevin Volland on the post. OM tried to react quickly. A quarter of an hour from the end, a corner played quickly by Payet found Guendouzi in the area. The latter centered hard in front of goal. At the far post, Milik, surprised, was too short to resume and thus missed a great recall opportunity for the locals. Opposite, Monaco close to the break at the end of the match, when Fofana dared a powerful strike from the entrance to the surface which passed just wide. But the score was no longer going to evaluate and Monaco revived to the detriment of a dominant and sterile OM. Marseille chained a second consecutive defeat at home and left the place of the dolphin to Nice.
