Already more than 15,000 corona dead in Austria
In Austria, 22 further deaths related to Covid-19 were reported within 24 hours. The number of corona deaths since the beginning of the pandemic has thus exceeded the threshold of 15,000. 28,463 cases of new infections have been registered since Saturday. This is below the 7-day average of 29,747. The seven-day incidence was 2,331.1 cases per 100,000 population. As of Sunday, there were 292,576 active cases, up 3,162 from the day before.
Deaths were counted daily on a seven-day average of 31.6. A total of 221 deaths related to corona infection have been registered in the past seven days. Since it broke out, the pandemic has claimed 15,008 lives in Austria. Since then, 168 people per 100,000 inhabitants have died from or with Covid-19.
There have been 2,867,760 confirmed corona cases since the beginning of the pandemic. 2,560,176 people have recovered since the outbreak of the epidemic, and 25,279 were considered healthy again within the past 24 hours.
According to the Ministry of Health and the Interior, 2,469 people were recorded in the hospital on Sunday, 78 fewer than the previous day. 191 people were cared for in intensive care units. That number has dropped by eleven since Saturday and has dropped by six patients in a week.
423,664 rapid PCR and antigen tests were registered within 24 hours, of which 352,191 were PCR tests. All in all, there are now 210,978,053 corona tests carried out. The positive rate for PCR was 8.1 percent, this 24-hour value was above the average of the past week with an average of six percent positive.
3,603 vaccinations were carried out on Saturday. According to the e-vaccination pass, a total of 6,803,046 people have received at least one vaccination. 6,243,161 people and thus 69.9 percent of the people in Austria have valid vaccination protection. 482 vaccinations were first shots, which is 13.38 percent, less than the seven-day average of 530. A total of 3,708 first vaccinations were carried out within the past seven days. 749 vaccinations were second shots, the seven-day average was 1,295. A total of 9,068 second tricks were granted within the past seven days. 2,372 third bites on Saturday accounted for 65.83 percent of all vaccinations, the seven-day average had been 3,157. A total of 22,100 third stitches were granted within the past seven days.
Among 12 to 24 year olds, 67.2 percent have a valid vaccination certificate, in the 25 to 34 age group the rate is 69.1 percent and among 35 to 44 year olds 71.6 percent. 74.3 percent of people between 45 and 54 years are verifiably protected against Covid-19 with a certificate, 82 percent in the group 55 to 64. The 65 to 74 year olds have a rate of 86 percent, the 75 to 84 -year-olds 89.1 percent and the group 85plus 85.4 percent. 14.1 percent are shown for children up to eleven years of age.
The protection rate (valid vaccination certificate) is highest in Burgenland at 76 percent. In Lower Austria, 72 percent of the population have valid vaccinations, in Styria 70.7 percent. After Vienna (68.9), Tyrol (68), Carinthia (66.8), Salzburg (66.1) and Vorarlberg (65.9), Upper Austria brings up the rear with 65.5 percent.
The federal state with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Vorarlberg with 2,584.9, followed by Lower Austria, Styria and Salzburg (2,525.7, 2,486.7 and 2,457.4 respectively). They are followed by Upper Austria (2,398.6), Tyrol (2,349.7), Burgenland (2,138.1), Carinthia (2,082.8) and Vienna (2,011.6).
