Toulouse: handcuffed, the burglar flees thanks to his flexibility
A man was caught in the act of theft in the Jolimont sector, in Toulouse, this Friday evening, March 4. He managed to escape while he was handcuffed behind his back.
By making a little less noise, this burglar might have succeeded. But on the night of Friday to Saturday, around 1 a.m., residents of a building in Jolimont were awakened by noise. It seems that something suspicious is going on in the cellars. The neighbors decide to contact the police.
A staff of the night brigade goes there and goes down into the cellars. In the basement, police officers observe the suspicious behavior of a man. He carries a violin to his car, then comes back in a box to retrieve a sports bag… The police decide to check him. Obviously this thief broke through several cellars before emptying the contents into his vehicle.
A maneuver worthy of a contortionist
The man is handcuffed. Then one of the two officers drives him to the police car while the second checks the thief’s car. At the rear of the branded vehicle, the respondent gesticulates. He’s flexible enough to have his hands cuffed behind his back suddenly in front of him. After this maneuver worthy of a contortionist, the suspect hits the policeman and flees.
The second official goes after him, but does not find him. The alert is given over the airwaves. All the night crews are on their toes to spot him. And in less than fifteen minutes, another brigade falls on him. This 28-year-old man plays the innocent. He walks around quietly with his hands hidden under his down jacket. Apprehended again, he was taken to the police station. A place that he seems to know perfectly if we rely on his heavy judicial past. His custody is ongoing.
