“We all make mistakes, but this one is too blatant. She is shocking! Julien Le Pen was still dumbfounded, Saturday March 5, 2022, after the defeat of AG Caen in front of Oissel (1-2). The Caen coach did not agree to comment on the referee of the meeting having decided not to whistle a penalty on Nicolas Suzanne at the end of the match. The extremely active midfielder was mowed down in the penalty area by the opposing goalkeeper. It was obvious to all but the man in black.
It is not possible ! I’m really pissed off at the refereeing. I am disappointed and sad for the boys. We must take at least one point from this match.
The Caennais may have cursed at the end of the match, they could only blame themselves for the two goals conceded. Once again, they were slow to enter their game. The sanction was immediate with one but conceded after five minutes of play and a second a quarter of an hour later. “On a missed our match start. We give two goals…”
Malcom Perian a renewed hope
The match then radically changed in appearance and we replaced the fully revived Avant Garde when Malcom Perian scored his sixth goal of the season. Launched in depth by a pass love signed Léo Hamel, the young striker did not tremble in one against one (34′). In the second half, the AGC accumulated the opponent in its last 20 meters but nothing was done. Not even the excellently well-taken set pieces by Morgan Hardoin, nor the repositioning of Léo Hamel at the forefront (Kévin Goba is serving a three-game suspension).
The group is there. We don’t take the points but we keep the idea of going for the maintenance together.
Julien Le Pen believes that his team must still take nine points to save themselves. AG Caen is ninth with seven points ahead of the red zone.
Julien Le Pen alone at the helm
With the hasty departure of Stéphane Bernard, Julien Le Pen regained control of his group. He is now only assisted by his deputy Alexandre Lecerf-Gosselin. “I have learned [le départ de Stéphane Bernard] Sunday evening when I arrived in Clairefontaine, where I spent the week in training. It’s not easy to experience that, especially from a distance. This period has left its mark. Even the DTN, Hubert Fournier, told me about it! The year is made to be complicated…”
