“It will be a difficult game”
This Sunday, Olympique de Marseille hosts AS Monaco at the Orange Vélodrome on behalf of the 27th day of Ligue 1. At a press conference, the Monegasque coach believes that his team has the means to generate the Marseilles.
AS Monaco is currently 10th in Ligue 1, far from its goal for the season. After their setback in the league and the defeat against Nantes in the Coupe de France, Monaco will be keen to reverse the trend this weekend. Monaco’s new coach, Philippe Clément was present at a press conference where he explained that his team would soon reap the fruits of their labor.
“We are here to get results, but also to develop young players. I’ve been there for eight weeks, and during that time there have been Covid cases and injuries. I could hardly count on Benoît Badiashile, Aleksandr Golovin and Myron Boadu for example. I repeat, in the last four games we have done a lot of good things, and we will reap the fruits of this work, I am convinced of that.”
However, he knows that against Olympique de Marseille it will be difficult even if he expects a few moments of rest in the Marseille dry cleaners.
“I believe in our strengths to counter this team”
“OM-Monaco? It’s a difficult match, against the second in Ligue 1. They won the first leg, where they were very impressive in the game. It’s a big challenge, but I feel the desire of my team to return the chance on our side. The goal is to transmit as much information as possible about Marseille. They are very strong in organization and in possession. It’s not a team that presses all the time. It will be a difficult game, but I believe in our strengths to counter this team.”
See you this Sunday to find out which team will win this match. If AS Monaco is 10th, that does not mean that they are not performing. This match will have to be taken seriously for the men of Sampaoli.
