Israil Dakayev wins in Toulouse
On Sunday February 20, the Excellence Seniors tournament took place at the Maison des arts martials de Toulouse. Israil Dakayev from Tarbes Pyrénées Judo, currently 7th national, participates.
The Tarbais fought in its category of – 81kg where there were 25 fighters from all over France. Israil won their round of 16 against Amenophis-Kanohin Doué (Nantes Dojo) by scoring two waza-ari (big advantage) which earned them ippon. In the quarter-finals, he faced the Aquitain François Lhomme and emerged victorious from his match by scoring two more waza-ari. In the semi-finals, our judoka won Valentin Houinato (future 3rd) from Montpellier Judo Olympic. Israil emerged victorious in its semi-final of the Occitania championship last October after a golden-score of almost 3 minutes. This time, our fighter surprised Houinato in just 10 seconds with a superb sode-tsuri-komi-goshi (hip movement). In the final, place for Nidhal Belgacem from UJ Brive, 3rd French Juniors championship in 2020. After a very good work on the ground, Israil managed to strangle his opponent who has no other choice but to hit ippon!
Israil Dakayev wins this Excellence Seniors tournament which allows him to score 90 points in the national ranking. It should be noted that the Tarbais is also on the list of beneficiaries entitled to participate in the Continental Open (European Cups).
Now it’s time for the 1st division Occitanie senior team championship (with Judo Rodez Aveyron) which will take place on March 20 in Cahors.
