fuels? “There is indeed a cartel situation in Portugal”, accuses BE
The coordinator of Bloco de Equerda, Catarina Martins, said this Saturday that the Government has to damage fuel prices to combat “cartelization” in the sector, which results in “an assault on consumers”.
“There is in fact a cartel situation in Portugal, in food, which means that they always pay more. The Block already signed there are no principles and we affirm that of prices. Everything that is possible in Portugal with the price of chemical products with market fluctuations is not justifiable. There is a clear use that has to be fought, it is fought with prices”, he defended.
Catarina Martins, who spoke to journalists at the end of a visit to the sea port of Vila Praia de Âncora, Caminha, also defended the need for an “adequacy” of the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP) to the rise in price that is being done. feel currently.
“The Government also has room to lower the ISP and should lower it. With the rise in fuel prices, the government’s tax revenue will increase, even if the government drops ISP. It is not clear why there is no change in the ISP to control this price fluctuation”, he added.
The prices of diesel and gasoline will soar next week, with increases of more than 14 and eight cents per liter, respectively, following the rise in the prices of oil products on international markets, sources in the sector.
The Government announced the program of preventive measures, development for the increase of the months, among which a set of increase of the price increase in the Autovoucher 20 euros and the extension for taxis and buses 20 euros and the extension for three (now paying 30 cents per liter of fuel, instead of the current 10).
For Catarina Martins, these are “short” measures.
“Effective, it was to end the cartelization of prices in which when oil goes down, fuels remain high. When oil rises the cheers. What you do know is that gasoline profit margins are not guaranteed and consumers are always paying more and more for gasoline that is perfect as they are paying more and more for gasoline.
The coordinator of the Bloc that Portugal “must import” those two “mechanisms to control the price of food”.
“You don’t understand why fuel prices have to go up now. When oil went down, what as gasoline said the price is that it cannot go down because it had already bought oil, before, at a higher price. Now that it has just gone up, do you have to have that higher price for consumers?”, he asked.
“Why is it when there is an up fluctuation in the market, prices go down, but when there is a fluctuation, in the market, prices don’t go down?” he asked.
For Catarina Martins, to be defined in terms of prices and not measures as measures to reduce the crisis of studies and that of not making the Government and otherwise “not even a fight”.
“Leaves and distributors who pay with the fuel crisis and, also, do not adjust the tax burden taking into account the price of fuel, at this time”, he maintained.
