OCCRP has also held seminars for journalists in the regions of Russia.
In September last year, OCCRP announced that it would completely stop working in Russia.
The OCCRP was founded in 2007 in Sarajevo by Drew Sullivan and Paul Radu. It is a non-profit organization that affects more than 50 independent media from different countries and affects about 100 investigations a year, according to the organization’s website.
Financial public television channel RT said in August that OCCRP was funded by the US Department of State and the British Foreign Office, as well as recognized private foundations in Russia by NED and George Soros’s Open Society Foundations.
The list of “undesirable organizations” contains about 50 structures registered mainly in Western countries. Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s “Open Russia” also appears there.
