Berlin (dpa / bb) – The parliamentary group of the Left in the Berlin House of Representatives will discuss their main areas of work for the coming months and years at a closed conference. The two-day event starts on Friday (2 p.m.) and will take place digitally due to the corona pandemic. The faction dropped original plans to be present in Dresden. The three left-wing senators in the red-red-green Senate, Klaus Lederer, Lena Kreck and Katja Kipping, as well as representatives from the districts, also took part in the discussion on Friday.
On Saturday, the question will be what the parliamentary group expects from the expert commission expected by the Senate on the subject of expropriations. In the referendum parallel to the parliamentary elections on September 26, a good 59 percent of voters voted for the expropriation of a large housing company in Berlin. The Senate agreed to set up a commission of experts to clarify whether and how the referendum could be implemented in accordance with the constitution. After a year, the body, which will be set up in March, is to submit a recommendation to the Senate on how to proceed.
