Lisbon’s new brunch has a French accent — and delicious pastries
It officially opens on March 13th and promises to be a meltdown between croissants, brioches, cold meats, cheeses, eggs and crepes.
Since January 12th, Lisbon has been more colorful. The reason could not be better. It was on this day that the well-known French brand Mama Shelter opened its first unit in the Iberian Peninsula, with all the irreverence and originality that characterizes it since it was founded by the Trigano family in 2008.
In addition to increasing the number of bed rooms in the city, the building located between Príncipe Real and Praça do Marquês de Pombal — just 10 minutes from Parque Eduardo VII and its extraordinary view over the capital — has only a gastronomic offer with the opening of a homonymous restaurant led by chef Nuno Bandeira de Lima.
From March 13, that is, just over two months later, there are new reasons to stop by. We tell you about the brunch that starts to be served on this date and arrives with one, that of “a Sunday spent slowly, deliciously — around the table”.
Among classic suggestions, French references and flavors, there will be no shortage of croissants, brioches and pains au chocolat, as well as cold meats, cheeses and sausages.
The inevitable eggs, crepes, yogurt, cake by the slice, fruit and homemade bread1 the menu, available between 2:30 am and 4 pm. It costs 35 euros and is complete with coffee, tea, natural juices and flavored water.
