The new HBO Max streaming service will start with us in a few days. The offer of television content in Slovakia will thus again improve significantly. The arrival platform is accompanied by several questions, answers and all key information.

What is HBO Max?

HBO Max is a new streaming service that will soon replace the existing HBO Go platform in Slovakia. Behind HBO Max is the media group WarnerMedia, which includes, among others, the well-known film studio Warner Bros.

As part of one service, new and well-known series and films from Warner Bros., HBO, DC, Cartoon Network and Max Originals will be available in one place for the first time.

When will HBO Max come to Slovakia?

HBO Max will be launched in Slovakia on Tuesday, March 8, 2022. At the same time, the existing HBO Go service will cease to exist, which HBO Max will gradually replace.

How can I subscribe to HBO Max?

HBO Max will be available directly or through offers from operators and third parties. Registration and subsequent subscription payment is required to begin using HBO, a trial version of the service is not available.

You can register directly on the HBO website and you can do so now at HBO Go page. The account will remain active after the launch of HBO Max on March 8.

I subscribed to HBO Go. Will I have to create a new account?

You will not need to create a new account. HBO informs you that all previous accounts will be automatically transferred to HBO Max. Exceptions could be new users using Apple Pay – in these cases, the service may prompt you to re-register. We informed about the reasons in a separate topic.

Existing HBO subscriptions also remain valid for customers if the new HBO Max service needs to be continued.

The only thing you can use HBO Go will be after launching HBO Max is to download the new app. Her notifications will be notified when the service starts. Subsequently, they will have the same data as needed coming to HBO Go.

What happens to HBO Go?

HBO Go will be discontinued. All customers will automatically proceed to HBO Max.

I subscribe to HBO through another provider. What do I have to do?

Even in this arrival, the transition to HBO Max should be smooth. According to our information, operators and other providers have already notified their customers by e-mail about the change in services.
