Red Bull Salzburg meets SCR Altach next Saturday, kick-off is at 5 p.m. Hearing it differently, the leaders of the table received the tail light. all games are regularly played at the same time, but since there is nothing more at stake for both teams before the division of the league, this duel can already take place on Saturday.
The roles in the last game of the regular season are actually clearly divided. Salzburg have won twelve of the last 14 Bundesliga games and the last nine home games against Altach. Across the seasons, they have been unbeaten in 25 competitive games in front of their home crowd. Only one series lasted longer: from October 2016 to October 2019 they even went undefeated in 71 games. But one should not underestimate the people of Vorarlberg. In the first leg, the current Magnin squad drew 1-1, at that time still under Dazu Canadi.
Salzburg coach Matthias Jaissle would like to win this game too: “That’s right at the top of our priority list. We will use the next few days to collect our strength again as quickly as possible after yesterday’s intense game. One or the other who was recently ill will return to the starting XI. That’s how we want to put our kind of football back on the pitch and get the three points.”
Altach with sustainable jerseys
The sporting director of the Mozartstadt team, Christoph Freund, looks back very positively on the season so far: “The season so far has been very impressive for me. It worked well from the start and we play very attractive football. We have a great structure in the team, concede few goals and are therefore in a really good position. But we’re only in the middle of the season and still have one game left in the regular season. It’s important to keep your concentration high and continue to act.”
The Jaissle squad are still struggling with Sekou Koita and Bryan Okoh (both knees), Noah Okafor and Benjamin Sesko (both thighs) all missing through injury. Jerome Onguene is ill and Oumar Solet suffered a hamstring injury against LASK, further investigations will follow.
The Altachers will appear in Salzburg for the first time in a sustainable special jersey. The “World” jersey was developed by outfitter Jako and consists of 100% recycled textiles. In order to generate special attention for this important topic, the club decided to keep the entire jersey including the logos in black and white.
