Genoa: attempts to defraud a policeman, reported 37 years old
GENOA – The Genoa State Police has reported a 37 year old for aggravated scam and attempted scam.
A policeman on duty at the Genoa Police Headquarters opened the door of the house to a stranger who rang him by introducing himself as a gas technician in charge of the sale of safety equipment to be installed on the heaters, at a cost of about 40 euros to be paid with an ATM or credit card and deductible from the tax return.
Realizing that the action put in by the man could be a scam, the policeman qualified and immediately asked for the help of a Volante. The 37-year-old, from the investigations carried out, has several precedents for fraud against him, as well as the owner of the company for which he works.
The UPGSP agents then asked the condominiums of the building if anyone had fallen into the trap and identified a lady to which the figure of 796 euros from her account that she frightenedly blocked the “contract” for the installation of the device because, according to the man, his safety and that of the whole would otherwise be endangered.
After the complaint, the operators of the Anticrime Division have also notified him of a clearance sheet so that he will not be able to return to Genoa for at least 3 years.
