KURIER Medienhaus takes off in Austria with the innovative learning app phase6
Germany’s leading vocabulary trainer started the roll-out in Austria on March 2nd
Vienna (OTS) – The concept of success Stage6, which currently inspires more than 250,000 learners in Germany, started on March 2nd in Austria. The vocabulary trainer app enables simple and sustainable learning using a digital index card system, also suitable for the respective textbook. The didactically prepared content builds on the fact that the vocabulary that has not yet been internalized so well is played out more often in the app – until the learning success sets in and the vocabulary is stored in the long-term memory.
Thomas Kralinger Managing Director of KURIER Medienhaus explains: “With phase6, the KURIER Medienhaus would like to make a contribution to increasing educational opportunities in Austria. With phase6 we are helping to catch up on vocabulary training, which was often neglected during home schooling, and we are providing Austrian pupils with a tried and tested digital learning tool that is ideally tailored to the subject matter. Our commitment is a logical continuation of the high educational and digital competence of the KURIER and our activities related to the KURIER learning houses, in which we give over 200 children free learning support every year.
”
Cooperation with leading publishers
On the occasion of the launch in Austria, cooperation agreements were concluded with leading school book publishers, such as öbv (Österreichischer Bundesverlag Schulbuch GmbH & Co. KG) and the publisher HPT (Verlag Hölder-Pichler-Tempsky GmbH). “The Corona Pandemic has even further increased the challenges of heterogeneous classes with sometimes large differences in performance. Therefore, individual support for girls and students is essential and can be supported by technology. We are therefore pleased to expand our tried-and-tested foreign language content with phase6, another interactive exercise tool
“, says Maximilian Schulyok, Managing Director of the Austrian Federal Publishing House.
The content of phase6, which is specific to Austria, is therefore an ideal supplement – but not in competition with the lessons. Flashcards or vocabulary books are replaced for targeted, location-independent and successful learning. E-learning has become more and more important through homeschooling and distance learning, while at the same time the children are overwhelmed with the learning material. “As an Austrian educational company, we are constantly developing practical educational media in the analogue and digital sectors. In our contribution to phase6, we also see a great deal of relief for teachers and parents, since the app optimally supports students with vocabulary training with its innovative didactic concept
“, emphasizes Nikolaus Pongracz, Managing Director of the publishing house HPT.
phase6 offers ready-made vocabulary collections for 19 foreign languages, including the school languages English, Latin, French, Spanish and Italian, but also DaF (German as a foreign language) and popular language learning aids for adult education. For the Austrian school market, there are already more than 400 titles that match course and textbooks, and the range is to be further expanded in the coming months. The basic functions and a 7-day trial period are provided free of charge. After that, learners can choose between selected packages.
Strong partnership
The KURIER Medienhaus has held a stake in phase6 since January 2021 and is thus further expanding its commitment in the field of education. “A successful, country-specific introduction of phase6 requires a strong partner who knows the relevant people on site – we have found such in the KURIER Medienhaus as well as the öbv and HPT.
” says phase6 CEO Hendrik Langner about the cooperation.
